I’m Chrystal Price, better known as the Marvelista and owner of Marvelocity Style Consulting. I’m a data analyst by day and stylist by night - two very different worlds! I come from stylish stock with a mother who made many of her clothes (and mine too) growing up and a father who finds joy in gardening, wine making, cooking, and dressing well. I started my style consulting company Marvelocity Style Consulting in 2008 with a vision of helping people feel more comfortable in their own skin through fashion.
I’ve always had an eye for detail and a mind for frugal sensibility, so I began style consulting as a hobby - helping friends and even strangers in shops pick out clothing and accessories that fit them.
After my own struggles in figuring out my personal style, I recognized a need for helping people grasp the art of fashion without feeling intimidated or breaking the bank.
Also, writing has always been a passion of mine. As a contributor to zines such as RiotGrrl.com to Thread.co.nz, I’ve been giving my opinion on everything from the state of the world to why Crocs should die for years.
While fashion is my focus, this blog is dedicated to living your life in style. That’s everything from food to clothing. My job is to thoroughly study and understand trends and how to use them to my clients’ advantage. I strive to snatch ideas from the runway and artfully apply them to my clients’ closets, no matter their budget, shape, or size.
Is to inspire you to be the best you through style. We all know that when you look good, you feel good.
Where do you shop?
- Anywhere from my mom’s closet, to thrift stores, to Nordstrom.
Who inspires you?
- My parents for certain, but I’d have to say that Mary Tyler Moore in the 70s is my style muse.
